The Adult Entertainment Industry in South-Africa and across the world is perhaps one of the most misunderstood and misjudged Industries I have ever come across and I find it strange that it has not been legalised and more controlled and guarded everywhere.
Instead, it remains completely unprotected and a preying ground for criminal activity which robs it of a whole bunch of the glorious benefits it actually does provide to many people within our society.
As a Legal Professional, having experienced this industry first-hand from both sides I am well aware, perhaps better than most, of the enormous benefits it can bestow on most individuals active withing its parameters, but also fully aware of the imminent dangers that lay in the shadows at times.
Sadly, as we might all have noticed, after Covid this Industry declined greatly!
It is no longer the joyful, fun place we previously used to be able to peacefully be ourselves confidently in, and furiously live out our fantasies in full force as before - now is it?? Nope. Definately not.
The quality of the Patrons as well as the quality of the Service Providers have seriously dropped way below average, changing the ballgame entirely and opening up the door to unwanted behaviour and a much higher degree of crime than was previously experienced.
This was partly driven by the bad economy that forced Service Providers to lower rates at times, making their services more affordable to a lower-class person and thus, an array of new problems to manage arose. The opposite is also true where Patrons could no longer afford the better rated Service Providers and had to opt for a bit lower rated option.
What we have also seen is an influx of new Service Providers from the outside than did not necessarily bring with them quality or class to add to the equation, just more of what seems like urgency and need just resulting in larger quantity, and/or could have perhaps been an increase in a specific service type or even nationality, which is not most people’s taste per sé, but exponentially crowded the general population of Service Providers, causing most of the classier Patrons to rather move along swiftly than having to take what they can get.
Exactly the same happened on the other side of the equasion and from the opposite perspective, a whole different kind of Patron crawling out from under, contacting Service Providers and when they dont get what they want, abusive language now freely flows. With Service Providers generally being assumed stereotypically to be the more needy party of the two, its possibly easier to feel comfortable not to treat women with common courtesy and decency as one should. Stranger than usual requests. Perhaps more gangster type activity can be noted here also. Affordability of already low rates under a well strained economy stresses certain issues even further.
Something changed and Everything changed.
Whatever each person's reason may be for leaving, many of the good ones have.
It’s a conundrum all round and not an ideal environment whatsoever to find oneself in these days at all.
Some of you might know me, and some of you might not, but all of you should wish that you do!
I’m the only person in this industry that you would want on your side when the time comes, and you need utmost discretion and effective problem solving.
We have noticed an increase in criminal behaviour such as abuse, harassment, blackmail, extortion, theft, non-payment of services and/or debt, kidnapping, rape, assault, hostage situations etc. The list goes on and on.
